Day 1: Drummondville

Board the motorcoach, sit back and relax, and get to know your fellow passengers. After arriving at the hotel and settling into your room, enjoy dinner with your new friends.

Day 2: Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Matane

Travel the byroads this morning to Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, the woodcarver’s capital of Quebec. Take some time to view the intricate skill of some local woodcarvers before journeying on to overnight in the charming seaside town of Matane.

Day 3: Percé

Enjoy a relaxing day travelling to Percé, a small village near the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula. There will be plenty of time to explore this quaint area.

Day 4: Bonaventure Island, Percé Rock

Spend the day enjoying the peace and tranquility of the little village of Percé. Lookout in the harbour to see Parc national de l’Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé, considered to be a jewel of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The park includes Bonaventure Island and Percé Rock, a natural rock formation located close to the shore facing the town, known for its size, color, and an unusual door-like hole at one end. A boat trip will provide a close-up view of the famous rock, with the option to stop at Bonaventure Island on your own, to access a walking trail to one of the most important gannet colonies in the world.

Day 5: Banc-de-Pêche-de-Paspébiac Historic Site, Matapédia Valley

Learn about the evolution of the fishing industry in Gaspésie at the Banc-de-Pêche-de-Paspébiac Historic Site. Starting from the late 18th century, the site tells the story of the empire of two-family companies from the Island of Jersey who were able to profit after the conquest from the commercial fishing potential of the area. Continue up through the Matapédia Valley, world-renowned for Atlantic salmon fishing, to complete the circle around the Gaspé peninsula.

Day 6: Tadoussac

Cross the St. Lawrence River by ferry today aboard the M.V. Trans-Saint-Laurent, a service that has been in existence between Rivière-du-Loup and Saint-Siméon for over 80 years. Enjoy the scenery on board the ferry during the 65-minute crossing, and keep an eye open for the St. Lawrence River’s summer visitors, the whales. Spend the night in Tadoussac, France’s first mainland trading post in New France.

Day 7: Whale Watching, Québec City

Have a ‘whale of a time’ this morning during your whale-watching cruise. With Mother Nature’s cooperation, you will have the opportunity to get an up-close look at these magnificent mammals in their summer feeding grounds at the confluence of the St. Lawrence River and the Saguenay fjord. Be sure to have the camera ready! Stay the next two nights in Québec City at our centrally located hotel and enjoy the charms of Old Québec. This evening enjoy dinner at Manoir Montmorency overlooking the mighty falls.

Day 8: Québec City, Free Afternoon

Be entertained with a guided city tour this morning, highlighting the views and attractions of Old Québec. Take a walk in Place Royale in the Petit Champlain Quarter of Lower Town, and admire the history and views from the belvedere on the Plains of Abraham. This afternoon will be free for you to explore your favourite section of the city as you wish.

Day 9: Travel Home

Take a moment out of your homeward journey to stop at Sucrerie de la Montagne, an ‘old-time’ sugar shack that is proud to explain the traditional process of making maple syrup. Smell the heavenly scents in the wood-fired bakery used for their homemade bread. Enjoy a traditional Québecois lunch and save time to purchase some maple syrup for your first breakfast at home. Wave goodbye as you board the coach for the remainder of your journey home.

Day 4: Confederation Bridge

Today you'll cross the Confederation Bridge. At more than 12 kilometres long, it is the longest of its kind in the world. Lunch will be enjoyed in Charlottetown, with free time for exploring. During a guided walking tour, you’ll learn about the Charlottetown Conference and the history of the city. Next, arrive in Summerside with its tree-lined streets, stately heritage homes, historic murals and harbourfront where you will settle in for the next two nights.

Day 5: PEI Preserve Company, Fisherman’s Wharf, Green Gables Heritage Place

The charm and history of PEI are yours to discover on this day of leisurely sightseeing. Enjoy a jam tasting at the PEI Preserve Co. followed by lunch at Fisherman’s Warf in North Rustico – a gastric treat. Embark on a tour of the Green Gables Heritage Centre where you can stroll the trails and learn about early Victorian life and see the setting that inspired L. M. Montgomery to create her beloved tale of Anne of Green Gables. Enjoy dinner and entertainment tonight at the Acadian Musical Village.

Day 6: Pictou & Baddeck

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll return across Confederation Bridge and arrive at Pictou, the “Birthplace of New Scotland” and have a stop for lunch and some sightseeing. When we arrive in Baddeck, we’ll tour the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. After dinner at the hotel, we’ll enjoy evening entertainment taking in traditional Cape Breton fiddle music, song and dance with The Baddeck Gathering Ceilidhs (*if available)

Day 10: Lunenburg, Peggy’s Cove

Visit Lunenburg, a historic town that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you will have a scenic guided walking tour, followed by a guided tour of the Fisheries Museum. Lunch today is at the Old Fish Factory restaurant. Travel along the scenic shoreline stopping for a photo of Margaret’s Bay. You then travel to Peggy’s Cove and its famous lighthouse. You return to your hotel where the rest of the day is yours to explore on your own.

Day 11: Hopewell Rocks, Shediac Lobster dinner cruise

Visit the stunning Hopewell Rocks today, and admire these incredible formations sculpted by the highest tides in the world. After an included lunch at Hopewell Rocks, make your way to Moncton where you will have time to settle into your hotel. This evening journey to the Lobster Capital of the World, Shediac. Here you will embark on a lobster dinner cruise where you will learn all about lobster fishing and the beautiful Shediac Bay.
