Spring is Back

Day 1 Ottawa, ON

We begin our journey to our Nation’s Capital for the annual Tulip Festival. This annual world-famous festival centers on Ottawa’s love affair with the tulip, with a million tulips blooming in public areas, including 250,000 blooms in Commissioners Park near Dows Lake. Check into the Lord Elgin Hotel for a three-night stay. The hotel is situated in close proximity to Parliament Hill, the National War Memorial, the tulip displays of Majors Hill Park and more. Dinner included at the hotel this evening. (D)

Day 2 Ottawa, ON

Your day begins with a guided tour of Ottawa allowing you to see highlights such as the Supreme Court of Canada, Rideau Hall and makes for a great way to take in the numerous tulip gardens that turn the city into a sea of colour. Lunch will be on your own in Rideau Mall, adjacent to the famous Byward Market. You will have time to experience the vitality of the market before we make our way to the Canadian Museum of History (former Museum of Civilization). As Canada’s most visited museum, you will discover the events, people and objects that have shaped our Nation’s history. In the Grand Hall you’ll see the world’s largest indoor collection of totem poles and take in spectacular view of Parliament Hill across the Ottawa River. (B)

Day 3 Ottawa, ON

Crafted from original designs by Canadian artists, the Royal Canadian Mint produces some of the world's most stunning collectible coins. This morning, our interactive, guided tour features displays and behind-the-scenes looks at the Royal Canadian Mint's state-of-the-art facilities ending in the boutique where you can shop for collector coins, gifts, and souvenirs. This afternoon, we take time to walk among the tulip beds of Commissioners Park. We end our afternoon with a cruise on the Rideau Canal. (B)
