Multi-generational travel, a new trend

Posted on 10/06/2021 | About Caribbean, Anywhere

Everyone has a bucket list of places to travel within their lifetime. As we get older, the list gets bigger and bigger. A new item has been added to the list, multi-generational travel. Let's take the family, the kids and grand kids on vacation. We want to see everyone together and having a good time.

Tour Suppliers have recognized this trend and have brought out new experiences for the broader family.

Here are some examples.

1) All-inclusive Resorts

All-inclusive resorts have finally started listing their adjoining rooms as "Family Rooms". This change has made it easier to find the right accommodations for the right family. It usually consists of two adjoining rooms, one with two double beds and one with a king bed. Perfect for an extended family. But there are resorts that have gone the extra mile. Like the Sunscapes Puerto Plata that has a two bedroom suite with a Livingroom/kitchen combo. Check this out. https://www.sunscaperesorts.com/en/resorts/dominic...

2) Cruises

Cruising can be a great multi-generational experience. Cruise ships are designed to have activities for everyone. Adjoining rooms or rooms across the hall from each other, can give a family a feeling of having their own private section of the ship. Some ships connect rooms on the Balcony, doubling the outside area for your use.

Dinner can be a pleasant experience even for the pickiest of eaters with an extensive buffet or anytime dinning, when you eat when you're ready, not at a set time.

The level of activity is crazy with roller coasters, water slides, zip lining and more. Something for everyone.

3) Guided Tours

The most extensive change toward multi-generational travel has been with tour companies. Tours are no longer your granny's bus tour.
